FieldSpartan Privacy Policy

Who this policy is for

FieldSpartan is a mobile app for technicians employed by field service businesses.

This policy describes how the FieldSpartan mobile app collects, uses, and protects information. It covers two groups of people:

  • Technicians — the people who sign in to the app to do their work.
  • Customers of those businesses — the people whose contact and location data flows through the app so technicians can do scheduled visits.

If you are a customer whose data appears in this app, the business that services your account is the controller of your data. We process it on their behalf. Contact your service provider first for access, correction, or deletion requests; we will support their response.

What we collect

From technicians (you, signing in)

  • Account information. Name, email, and authentication tokens, provided by your employer through our authentication provider (Clerk).
  • Device location. When you tap a step that asks for your location, or when you open the route map, the app reads your current GPS coordinates. Location is only read on demand — we do not track location in the background.
  • Photos. Photos you capture for procedure steps (e.g. equipment readings, before/after work).
  • Operational data. Visit status changes, notes you write, procedure responses, and timestamps.
  • Diagnostic data. Crash reports, error traces, and performance metrics (via Sentry). These may include device model, OS version, app version, stack traces, and app/screen performance timing. We disable personally identifying fields in diagnostic events by default.

About the customers your employer services

  • Customer name, phone, email, address, and visit-related notes — pulled from your employer's FieldSpartan account so you can do the visit.

What we don't collect

  • Background location.
  • Microphone audio.
  • Contacts, calendar, or browsing history.
  • Health, biometric, or financial data.
  • Advertising identifiers. We do not run ads and do not share data with ad networks.

How we use it

  • To run the app — show your assigned visits, route, and customer info; capture status, notes, photos; sync changes back to your employer's FieldSpartan account.
  • To keep it working — diagnose crashes and errors so we can fix them.
  • To secure it — verify your identity, enforce per-business data isolation, and detect abuse.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use personally identifiable information to train AI models.

How it's stored and protected

  • In transit — all communication uses HTTPS.
  • At rest on your device — customer PII fields (name, phone, address, email) are encrypted with AES-256. Encryption keys are protected by the device's hardware-backed key store (iOS Secure Enclave or Android Keystore) and do not leave the device.
  • On our servers — managed by Zona Vibes under standard transport encryption, tenant isolation, and access controls.
  • Crash reports and performance metrics — sent to Sentry. Configured to omit IP address and personally identifying user data by default.
  • When you sign out — your encryption key is deleted from the device, and the local database is reset on the next sign-in by a different user.

Who we share it with

We do not share data with anyone else except (a) at your employer's instruction, (b) to comply with valid legal process, or (c) to protect rights, property, or safety.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Receive a portable copy of your information.

To exercise these rights:

  • If you're a technician — contact your employer first (they administer your account). Then write to us at privacy@fieldspartan.com if you need our help.
  • If you're a customer — contact the business that services your account. We will support their response.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

If you deny a permission, the related feature won't work, but the rest of the app still does.

Data retention

  • On your device — local data is kept while you remain signed in. Signing out clears it.
  • On our servers — retained per Zona Vibes's retention policy. Deletion requests are handled there.

International data transfers

Zona Vibes and our subprocessors are based in the United States. By using the app you understand that your data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when we change how the app handles data. Material changes will be announced in the app and via your employer.
